Example work types

How the workflow can carry different kinds of high risk work

These are illustrations only. Each site configures its own permit types, controls and approvers to match its procedures.

Hot work

A welding repair near process equipment might need gas testing controls in the JHA, a fire watch as a permit condition and sign-off by the area authority.

Confined space

Entry into a vessel might need isolation of connected lines, atmospheric test results, a named standby person and entrant competency checks before approval.

Maintenance

A pump seal replacement might need mechanical and electrical isolation, verification by the isolation authority and handback to operations at closeout.

Configuration

Your forms and approval rules

Permit forms, required fields, approval sequences and roles are configured to your procedure. Rules decide which approvals a permit needs before it can go live.

  • Separate forms for each permit type
  • Required fields and attachments before submission
  • Approval sequences by permit type, site and role
  • Your own terminology on forms and labels
